INTERACTIVE SOFTWARE S.R.L. (IS) is a Romanian company activating in the field of development and integration of voice communication and data transmission solutions, as well as development of integrated control-command solutions especially for the defence forces but also for governmental agencies and institutions.

INTERACTIVE SOFTWARE S.R.L. (IS) contribution is related to the following work packages:

WP1 – Use Cases & System Architectural Design

WP1 focuses on the preliminary design of an overall general architecture based on building blocks, considering requirements and data models, and including user interfaces and APIs. Use cases will be further defined around optimization and pollutant problems submitted by pilot demonstrations in their transition towards climate neutrality transition.

WP2 – System Modelling and Simulation

WP2 focuses on form optimization of USVs; modelling and simulating cyber-physical system, such as USVs and drawing the comprehensive picture of the marine ecosystem operations with related material and information flows; and defining the region of interest area for pollution detection through AI-based multi-criteria decision support system (AI-MDSS).

WP3 – System Integration and Pre-Validation

Pollutants will be detected, characterized, and automated through sensor systems to produce alarms or notifications to provide the basis for making time-sensitive decisions. WP3 is also devoted to the definition of the KPIs and definition of the intermediate and final testing and validation procedure of the developed solutions in terms of USVs and system performance.

WP4 – Use Case Realization

WP4 focuses on the definition and organization of the pilot demonstration sessions in real environments, the verification of use case requirements defined within each use case and aiming at sharing the achieved requirements

WP5 – Pollution Detection and Monitoring

  • Review literature, laws, regulations and guidelines, to identify the relevant pollutants whichpose a risk to the marine environment.
  • Develop a methodology for the detection of microplastics and other marine pollutants via theapplication of remote sensing. The methods used to detect marine pollutants, includingmicroplastics, will be verified with ground-truthing models.
  • Create a data platform to integrate the collection and monitoring of marine pollutants intothe SMARTPOL system.

WP6 – Dissemination and Exploitation

Pollution and Technology Community Engagement through various activities and event participation in Turkey, Malta, South Africa, and Romania at regional and international levels.

WP7 – Project Management

Project management activities will cover the project management activities including administrative procedures, technical coordination of the project, IPR protection and data management of the SMARTPOL project.
